BOUDHANATH STUPA PILGRIMAGE TOUR

Overview

Boudhanath Stupa, located in the heart of Kathmandu, Nepal, is one of the largest and most important Buddhist stupas in the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, dating back to the 5th century, serves as a significant pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhists.

The stupa features a massive mandala-like structure, with a white dome and a gilded tower that represents the enlightened mind of the Buddha. Its eyes, painted on all four sides of the tower, symbolize the omnipresence of the Buddha, watching over the world.

Surrounding Boudhanath are numerous monasteries, shops, and cafes, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with prayer flags, offerings, and the sound of spinning prayer wheels. The stupa is not only a place of worship but also a cultural hub, reflecting the rich history and traditions of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Visitors often engage in the kora, a ritual circumambulation of the stupa, adding to the spiritual ambiance of the site.
